About

This site is about an aspiring writer’s quest for the only thing writers quest for–acceptance!  By publishers, by critics, by readers… the fortune and glory that Indiana Jones talked up, written draft by draft to be accepted or rejected by the rest of the world.

This is part war journal and part help site for other aspiring writers.  I know, there’s bunches of help out there for writers written by big names, names my mama knows, names that have written countless best sellers and have authoritative voices in this matter.  So who am I to help?  I’m the guy in the trenches, slogging it out on the keyboard, wrestling with the self-doubt like a Luchador, hoping to see that one “yes” like a lighthouse beacon in a tumultuous sea of rejection.  For you other aspiring writers out there, I’m your brother in arms.

Sometimes, when hearing the motivational words of authorities , the big names who have been big names forever, feels like getting advice from mom and dad about a world that’s constantly changing… those are the times where you just may want to hear the words of a brother in arms.  Bloody and battered, I’m here for you.

    Hi James,
You mentioned that you entered the East India Press short story contest. Did you leverage the Nightingale or submit an original short story? What advice would you give regarding contests like this… Stay original or write in someone else’s world?
    Keep up the interesting blog,
    Tabitha

  3. What a cool guy. Like this place and plan to spend some time here.
    THanks, James

  4. Ditto from me as well. What I have seen so far shows great potential.
So much so that I will leave a standing offer to consider any story you send in to my program. I know that isn’t much from a community station, But it is an honest offer. Lots of luck and continued success.

    • I disagree on one point… I think anyone who appreciates my stories enough to disseminate them to their audience is a great deal, community station or otherwise. Hopefully, my work will continue to impress, so stay tuned 🙂
