War Journal 71: Futuristica!

I swear I'm in it... this girl's looking at me, I'm right off cover. Promise.

Yo Fanbase!  I’m back.  Man, some of y’all remember, not too long ago, when these war journals were like war journals.  I mean, rejection here, near miss there, hell some actual war stuff in actual war zones?  It’s getting so the War Journal’s more of a Victory Journal.

I’m pretty sure that’s a good thing, even though I do miss some of the randomness I used to drop.  But I digress.

Victory Journal Update!  I’ve got a new story, and this time in both an e-book and physical book!  Futuristica: Volume 1 recently debuted and it features my story “Whole Lives in Hammered Fragments.”  I’ve always loved this one, and it’s one of my serious pieces (sorry humor fans).  The story description made the back cover, the first few lines even, when the editors were choosing choice stories to entice readers into buying.  I’ll post it below so you, too, can be enticed!

What does the future hold for us?

This anthology of nineteen diverse stories from authors around the world show us a future full of adventure, intrigue, fun, heart-ache, and wonder.  An imprisoned space pirate from Phobos is given a last chance for freedom, but only if he’s willing to kill his younger brother.  Again.

It’s available at Amazon, those folks who, every time I swear, don’t include me in the author’s section, forcing me to request it through their cold, automated feedback process.  There’s easier ways to get in contact with me, I have a page built for it, but they don’t ever seem to tire of me harassing them about inclusion.

Anyway, check out Futuristica: Volume 1 on Amazon.  If you check it out now you’ll see Amazon shading me out of the collaboration, even though you can read a good chunk of my story in the “Look Inside”!  I swear, my next war is gonna be against the world’s biggest online bookseller.  And speaking of wars and their associated journals, what do y’all think?  Do you miss the randomness too?  Drop a line and let me know.  Nothing beats selling a story more than tailoring my web presence to you few folks that actually care!

  1. Yeah, I guess I do miss the randomness. 😉 Not least because I learn stuff like the ability to harass Amazon into including me in their author lists (they invariably leave me out too… maybe we should start a club). I never knew I could bug them about that. *puts ‘Amazon protest’ on to-do list*

  2. Now I know two people who have stories in this! Two great reasons to buy it! I look forward to reading your story.

  3. I’m so excited to hear about your success! I was just checking out your profile after finding you through Compelling Science Fiction. I’m going to be published through them soon myself, and I very much enjoyed “Mean and Clean!”
